Louise Bourgeois was born in Paris in 1911 and lived in New York from 1938 until her death in 2010. She was deeply influenced by her early childhood in France and by her rleationship with her parents who owned a tapestry restoration business. Primarily known as a sculptor the artist's oeuvre also included painting, drawing and printmaking.
