This is a Warosoku (Japanese candle) made from natural Haze (sumac) wax with special salt for purification. Beautifully handcrafted by artisans, each candle uses a traditional wick made with washi Japanese paper, unique to Warousoku.

Since ancient times, Shinto has held  the belief that salt is a powerful symbol and tool for purification and warding off evil spirits. The salt in this candle is made only from seawater on the day of the full moon.

The approximate burn time per candle is 50 - 60 minutes.
